Laudato si', Interest, and Engagement: An Account via Catholic Public Theology and Authority

On May 24, 2015, Pope Francis released Laudato si', an encyclical letter on the “care for our common home.” While the statement received much attention in the media, the question remains: what impact will it have on the environment over the long term? To help answer this, Environment magazine asked a wide range of scholars to address what they thought was the wider significance of this document.

Daniel R. DiLeo, M.T.S., is a Flatley Fellow and Ph.D. student in theological ethics at Boston College. His research focuses on Catholic social teaching, public theology, and climate change.
